Project Baby Zone 2 Girl Dubois

Echolocation is an ongoing series of installations finding location through sensory uses of objectification, color, shape, and sounds as symbolism for mimicking presence and reflection. The series explores the subconscious of the black & brown body as it experiences presence through occupying mental, social, and physical space. The motifs used to portray location and center identity speak to the validity of the mobility of gatekeeping that socializes culture even as it migrates from the original space or deviates from the norm.

This exhibition is an installation of The Echolocation series is a combination of Project Baby Zone 2 Dubois self portraits Series and other works, connecting the experience of a second generation Latina in the South to global south. The graph manipulation of the renowned data portrait help portray the fragmentation of narrative and mobility; pairing photo as sculpture with the sound component of the exhibition. Project Baby Zone 2 Girl Dubois depicts location in identity through transcendence of space.
